I guess I have a few things lately I'd like to blog about so I will~
One is some of my crafting I've been SUPER into the last few weeks! I've taken some photos so I'll be slowly blogging each of those that I photographed along the way.
Here's where I started. I havn't gotten creative enough to make this stuff up on my own but i'll post the original I got it from :)
First you paint the canvas or at least the majority of it a pale yellow. I used super inexpensive canvas' from Michael's on sale with a coupon about $1.50 each and paint with acrylics also not very expensive...$0.98 for a small bottle of color which last quite a bit apart from white because I like to get basic color and tone them down to what I need.
then I took my blue and added some to the yellow and did large circular motions and kept adding more blue and black until i got to the edge.
Then with black paint I slowly made the branches. If you look close here you can see I messed up but the WONDERFUL thing about acrylics on a canvas is that it is SOOO forgiving! So I made more pale yellow and covered it up and in the meantime while it dried I made small petals by lightly pressing the tip of the brush down and lifting up.
As you can see you can't even TELL I messed up :)
For the birds I just did the main part of the body first and then moved onto the tail and feet and then the head. The biggest thing to pay attention to is that it's proportionate to the one you're copying.
To the right is the original I based mine off of.
there is a place called Paint n Sip in Virginia Beach and
I remember REALLY wanting to do this piece but not really
being able to afford to go. So when I got into crafting I
thought to myself "I can paint n sip on my own!" and I did :)
If you try this out on your own send me a link
to your version! I'd love to see it!
