Rite Aid deal!
TOTAL: $96.48
AFTER sales/coupons/+ups: $41.32
SAVED: $55.66
Hey Everyone,
Cough Drops:
Something I learned on this trip is that sometimes coupons do not align with sales.
For instance : The cough drops were on sale for buy 2 for $3 and get $2 ups back (30 count bag) I had a coupon for $1 2 bags of the halls cough drops....unfortunately the cough drop coupon didn't work for a 30 count bag it had to be larger...being that my husband was going through cough drops quickly I went for the 80 count bags $2.99 each...plus $2 ups each and used my $1 off any 2 bags of cough drops....so its like I got 2 economy size bags of cough drops for $1!
There are a few random items I didn't need on here but it's because I was using UPS dollars and needed to get to $5 to use it...lol

First day couponing - Medicine
This is my first ever blog. I don't claim to be a writer and my friends and family hate how I'll write things like i'm on "chat" but that's me sooo....anyway! I wanna blog about my couponing experience...my sister Ellie and my friend Shelly coupon so they're teaching me and I'm learning from other blogs and websites.
Today was my first couponing day and being that I'm sick and we are completely out of medicine in the house, it was a great first mission! I clipped my first coupons on sunday and found coupons for looots of medicine and then wednesday the ad's came out for grocery stores/pharmacies.
Walgreens ended up being my place of choice to go to because
they had:
- DayQuil NyQuil and Sinex on sale for $5 vs Reg. $6.49 each
- Vicks VapoRub was $8.49 for a 3.53 oz bottle
- MusinexDM was on sale for $10 vs Reg. $13.49
I had coupons from 1/16 sunday paper
- $1.50 off DayQuil
- $1.50 off NyQuil
- $1.00 off Vicks VapoRub
- $1.00 off any Musinex
Walgreens had a special going on if you spend $15 on Vicks products you get $5 Register Reward "Bucks"
or
spend $20 on Vicks products and get $10 Register Reward "Bucks" which cannot be used until the next day and do expire after 2 weeks
I got DayQuil, Nyquil, Sinex and VapoRub for $19.49 after coupons and sales and was given $5 Register Reward "Bucks"
The next day I went and got MucinexDM (on sale for $10) with my $5 Register Reward "Bucks" and spent $5.50.
Total before Coupons/Sales/RR $41.45
Actual total spent: $24.98
SAVED: $16.47
To go a step further I went to target to get something and looked at their prices on the same medicines.
DayQuil
Brand name: $4.99
Target brand: $3.19
NyQuil
Brand name: $4.99
Target brand: $3.19
MucinexDM
Brand name: $9.94
There is no off brand
Vicks VapoRub
Brand name: $10.99
There is no off brand
Sinex
Brand name: $5.69
There is no off brand
It would have been $33 before coupons and $31 after getting the off brands and using coupons. So Still a good deal :)
I've been really excited to start couponing and you kind of expect to find these amazing deals and pay pretty much nothing for a lot. This was not the case for me on this excursion, but I still got good deals on things I needed. I feel like it's going to be a neat learning experience. The Register Rewards you get are considered a coupon so it's best to use your RR on sale items since you can't use a coupon in conjunction.
Until next time happy saving!
